About Thu 

Thu is an entrepreneur and a self-taught master jeweler. Thu was born and raised in Quang Ngai, Vietnam. At the age of 16, Thu then moved to South Saigon where he started as a jewelry apprentice. Thu then migrated to America in 1978.

Thu continued to perfect his jewelry craftmanship with his sheer will, focus, and commitment. To gain invaluable jewelry industry experience, Thu worked for Kay Jewelers for over 15 years. Thu finally opened his first store in Washington D.C in the 1980s, and it was a big success. As Thu approached closer to his retirement, he discontinued business in D.C, moved to Colonial Heights, and founded Expressions Jewelry in 2001. 

With over 40 years of technical experience and customer obsession, Thu is currently the owner, master jeweler, and chief creative officer of Expressions.

Outside of work, Thu enjoys fishing, landscaping, and Vietnamese culinary.
